  • Collaborate with HR on claims management and return-to-work programs.
  • Prepare permits, reports, and regulatory communications; support FSQ in EHS programs.

Job Summary

The EHS Coordinator ensures workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental health by implementing and maintaining safety, health, and environmental programs across both manufacturing facilities. This role assists in hazard identification, regulatory compliance, employee safety training, and fostering a culture of people-first safety and continuous improvement. Manage personal protective equipment (PPE), promote compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and help maintain a safe, clean, and compliant manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and safety audits to identify and mitigate workplace hazards while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable local regulations.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions using data analytics.
  • Conduct routine walkthroughs of production areas to understand how work is performed, identify practical improvement opportunities, and help reduce exposure to hazards such as, wet-environment and high-pressure washdown exposure, sanitation chemical handling, machine guarding on processing and packaging lines, and ergonomic/repetitive-motion risk.
  • Communicate daily with production and other teams to reinforce safe decision making and encourage reporting of concerns and ensure employees feel comfortable sharing ideas and challenges
  • Maintain workplace conditions that support food safety by mitigating cross-contamination, allergen risks, and sanitation hazards while reinforcing a strong people-first safety mindset.
  • Collaborate with HR and Workers' Compensation teams on claims management and return-to-work programs.
  • Manage inventory levels, ordering, distribution, and replacement of personal protective equipment (PPE) across both manufacturing facilities to ensure employees have the appropriate equipment required for their job duties..
  • Ensure employees properly use required PPE, follow established safety procedures and adhere to GMPs.
  • Conduct routine GMP and housekeeping inspections and work with department supervisors to address deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit permits, reports, and regulatory communications
  • Partner with the Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) team to integrate sanitation and food safety protocols into EHS programs to support GMP compliance and maintain a safe manufacturing environment
