Our client, the U.S.’s largest commercial real estate services firm, is seeking a EHS Consultant to support Environmental Health and Safety initiatives at a large, fast-paced manufacturing environment that operates 24/7 in Social Circle, GA. This 6-month contract role, with potential to extend or convert, is ideal for an EHS professional who is passionate about workplace safety, enjoys educating and training employees, and can confidently identify and address safety concerns in real time. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, facilitating safety training programs, and partnering with site personnel to promote a strong culture of safety. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3pm.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Deliver and facilitate safety training programs for employees and contractors, including maintaining attendance records and issuing training certificates
- Lead safety classes and communicate safety procedures in a clear, engaging, and effective manner
- Conduct routine walkthroughs of the site to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and take appropriate action to address concerns
- Recognize, document, and elevate safety hazards while partnering with site leadership to implement corrective actions
- Serve as an Environmental Health and Safety resource for employees, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Assist with identifying EHS programs and initiatives that align with regulatory requirements and operational needs
- Evaluate existing safety programs and recommend enhancements or updates when appropriate
- Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) initiatives and ensure proper procedures are understood and followed
- Provide guidance related to OSHA standards and safety protocols, including confined space entry, dig permits, and working at heights
- Participate in investigations related to safety incidents, near misses, and corrective actions as needed
- Complete administrative tasks, reporting, and documentation using Microsoft Office tools
- Perform additional EHS-related duties and special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
- 5–8 years of Environmental Health and Safety experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- OSHA 10 certification required
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices
- Experience with confined space procedures, dig permits, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and working-from-heights requirements
- Demonstrated ability to teach and facilitate classroom-style safety training programs
- Comfortable presenting to groups and engaging employees with varying levels of experience
- Ability to identify hazards, assess risk, and recommend practical solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions using multiple sources of information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must reside within approximately one hour of the worksite to support operational and training needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional OSHA certifications beyond OSHA 10
- Red Cross and/or CPR certification
