Job summary

Head Start of Lane County is seeking an EHS Associate Teacher for the 2026-2027 program year in Florence and Fairfield. The role supports the lead teacher, focuses on health, nutrition, safety, and development, and requires adherence to Head Start standards.

Responsibilities include implementing developmentally appropriate activities, documenting progress, and coordinating with families, staff, and community partners. This is a full-year position with a starting wage of $19.95 per hour.

Qualifications

• Infant/Toddler CDA or 1 year certificate with infant toddler coursework required upon hire.
• Associate degree in ECE with a focus on infant and/or toddler preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a preschool (infant/toddler) classroom preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable.
• Must obtain Pediatric CPR & First Aid certification and Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment.
• Enrolled in Child Care Division-Central Background Registry at hire and renew every two years.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up classroom environment (indoor/outdoor).
• Use developmentally appropriate practices for group and individual activities.
• Observe and record children's behaviors to aid EHS Home Visitor/Teacher.
• Participate in monthly staffing with all staff.
• Engage parents and community volunteers in activities.
• Integrate EHS components into daily classroom time.
