The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking an Administrative Support Specialist to provide oversight for the Institutional Biosafety Committee and biosafety program. The role involves managing committee meetings, supporting Principal Investigators with protocol submissions, and maintaining crucial program records.
Ideal candidates will hold an Associate’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field, possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and have at least one year of related experience. A valid driver’s license is also required.
Associate’s degree in Life Sciences, other related field of study, or equivalent experience.
1+ year of administrative experience in a comparable role.
Familiar with scientific terminology related to experiments, materials, protocols, and material transfer agreements.
High attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Good problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
Proficient in utilizing technology.
Adaptable and flexible to handle unexpected changes in priorities.
Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Molecular‑Biology, other related field of study, or equivalent experience.
General knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations/standards pertaining to laboratory safety, ionizing radiation, and/or biosafety.
