At The Centers, meaningful work is grounded in a culture where people feel valued. As a 2026 USA TODAY Top Workplaces winner, the organization is nationally recognized, based entirely on employee feedback, for trust, purpose, and care. This position plays an important role in advancing our mission and supporting the communities we serve.
For more than 50 years, The Centers has been one of Northeast Ohio's oldest and most trusted nonprofit organizations, serving more than 15,000 people annually. Our integrated model brings together health and wellness services — including primary care, behavioral health care, addiction services, HIV treatment, in‑house pharmacies, and dental care — alongside youth residential services and family support programs that span early childhood development, career training, and job placement.
When you join The Centers, you become part of a mission‑driven community dedicated to whole‑person care for those who need it most.
The EHR Specialist is a critical connector across our organization — sitting at the intersection of clinical operations, information technology, finance, and reporting. Working collaboratively with Health and Wellness leadership, the IT team, the Reporting and Analytics team, and external vendors, this role ensures that The Centers’ electronic health record system runs smoothly and empowers our clinical and administrative staff to deliver excellent care every day.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a cross‑functional environment, is energized by problem‑solving and staff education, and is passionate about enabling healthcare delivery through technology.
Provide role‑based system access and training to new hires and transferring staff — as close to their start date as possible — ensuring they can use the EHR and related clinical systems confidently from day one.
Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive training materials, training plans, and an up‑to‑date EHR training manual. Coordinate role‑specific training for new functionality, upgrades, and system enhancements to continuously build staff capability.
Facilitate the addition of new services, departments, workstations, printers, scanners, and other items requiring EHR settings updates. Manage EHR‑related change control for system enhancements, technology changes, and fixes. Communicate system outages and changes to leadership and staff.
Attend relevant vendor trainings (including OCHIN Site Specialist Training) and maintain productive relationships with OCHIN and other vendors. Partner with IT staff and OCHIN to troubleshoot technical issues and bring knowledge and resources that advance the needs of The Centers and Circle Health.
Help develop documentation templates and clinical content in cooperation with key clinical leaders. Evaluate EHR options to address clinical and practice management issues, using workflow analysis and technical tools.
Respond to internal Help Desk tickets through to complete resolution. Attend relevant organizational meetings and contribute actively to departmental and organizational decision‑making as an EHR subject matter expert.
This role operates in a professional, collaborative office environment across multiple sites. It includes prolonged computer use, occasional light‑to‑moderate lifting of office supplies, and the need to travel between locations during the workday. Flexibility for meetings, training sessions, and presentations outside of standard hours may occasionally be required.
