The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and programs that ensure a safe, compliant, and healthy work environment for all employees.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct facility inspections to identify environmental, health, and safety risks.
- Develop, implement, and maintain inspection procedures and schedules.
- Monitor compliance with all applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and environmental standards.
Program Development & Training
- Create and implement comprehensive health and safety procedures across all business units.
- Develop and deliver training programs on:
- Emergency response
- Workplace safety
- Regulatory compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture through education and engagement.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and document findings.
- Maintain accurate records of:
- Hazardous material usage and exposure.
- Waste discharge and environmental compliance.
- Ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are current and readily accessible.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety and environmental performance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or related field (required).
- Master’s degree (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in EHS or a related field.
- OSHA certification/training strongly preferred.
