Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro is hiring an EH&S Coordinator for the Growing Media team in Shreve, OH. This hourly role supports EPA/OSHA compliance, training, and recordkeeping to ensure safety and environmental standards.

You’ll lead a safety committee, monitor incidents, and coordinate RCRA activities while collaborating across departments. The role offers competitive hourly pay starting at $25/hour with weekly pay and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred OSHA certification.
• 1–2 years EH&S experience in manufacturing/agriculture environment.
• Knowledge of EPA/OSHA/state workers' comp laws and wastewater compliance.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; internet-savvy.

Responsibilities

• Ensure EPA and OSHA documentation compliance per corporate EH&S guidance.
• Collaborate with employees and managers to identify and mitigate EH&S concerns.
• Maintain Job Hazard Analysis database and PPE inventory.
• Maintain incident, injury, near-miss and safe-behavior records; follow up on actions.
• Coordinate RCRA compliance activities and training; advise on emergencies.
• Provide EH&S training and maintain training records per regs and policy.
• Record monitoring, sampling, and disposal data in regulatory software.
• Coordinate vendor inspections for safety systems (fire, wastewater, etc.).
• Occasional second/third shift work; lead safety committee.
