Job summary

Diplomatic Language Services (DLS) seeks an experienced EFL instructor for an English language training program in the UAE, delivering adult instruction in a military setting. Start date as early as October 2026.

You will teach from an existing curriculum, develop lesson plans, assess progress, and maintain records while collaborating with a team of professionals. Candidates must have a Master’s in TESOL or a related field and 2+ years teaching adults; US citizenship and a valid driver’s license

Qualifications

• High level of English proficiency.
• Master's degree in TESOL or similar field and 1 year teaching ESL/EFL to adults.
• 2+ years of experience teaching adult learners.
• Experience teaching overseas.

Responsibilities

• Develop weekly lesson plans.
• Conduct classes while maintaining a student-centered classroom.
• Administer curriculum-based assessments (oral and written).
• Conduct laboratory sessions (computer/multimedia).
• Maintain student performance, attendance and records.
• Conduct student counseling sessions.
• Attend team meetings as requested by supervisors/management.
• Participate in additional projects as needed.

Job description

Diplomatic Language Services (DLS) began providing foreign language training to Foreign Service Officers and other USG personnel in 1986, and we have continuously expanded our offerings since. Based in the Washington, DC area, DLS is a growing and dynamic organization offering career growth potential. DLS is currently seeking an experienced instructor of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) for an English language training program in the UAE. Project involves teaching adult students in a military setting. Instruction is based on an existing curriculum. Start date: as early as October 2026.

Per client requirements, instructor must be a US citizen. Candidate must also be in possession of a valid US driver's license in order to accommodate the daily commute.

Instructor Responsibilities:

• Develop weekly lesson plans;
• Conduct classes while maintaining a student-centered classroom;
• Administer periodic curriculum-based skills assessment and testing (oral and written);
• Conduct laboratory sessions (computer/multimedia);
• Maintain student performance, attendance and academic records on a daily/weekly basis;
• Conduct student counseling sessions;
• Attend team meetings at request of supervisors and/or management;
• Participate in additional projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• High level of English proficiency;
• Master's degree in TESOL or similar field and one year of professional experience teaching ESL/EFL to adults;
• 2+ years of experience teaching adult learners;
• Experience teaching overseas ;
• High level of intercultural competence and adaptability
• Proven ability to work well in a collaborative, team environment;
• Well organized and able to deliver lesson plan clearly;
• Ability to maintain professional appearance, demeanor, and classroom environment;
• Understanding of the importance of adherence to all worksite rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching in the Middle East;
• Experience in military training environments.
