Job summary

North American Dental Group is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant for a part-time position in New York. Our practice emphasizes empathy and delivering best in class patient care, with a focus on putting every patient first and transforming the dental experience.

You will assist doctors, perform expanded duties per state regulations, handle charting and patient education, manage dental procedures, and support a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• EFDA certification or state-required on-the-job training.
• Radiography licensure per state requirements.
• CPR certification required.
• 1–5 years of experience preferred, or new graduates considered.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite; knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays.

Responsibilities

• Assists doctors with charting, placement of fillings, operatory set-up/cleanup, and patient education.
• Able to perform expanded duties following state regulations and compliance.
• Assists in clinical procedures such as placing fillings, temporary crowns, removing sutures, and fluoride treatments; limitations per state.
• Records and reviews patient health history; creates chart entries under the doctor's direction; handles forms in dental software.
• Enters and updates patient treatment plans as directed by the treating clinician.
