Job summary

The Montgomery County Office of Human Resources (OHR) is seeking an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Manager to lead the Compliance & Diversity Management team. This role will manage investigations, education initiatives, and policy compliance across the County.

Ideal candidates will have at least five years in HR management or EEO, a bachelor’s degree in HRM, business, public administration, or related fields, and EEOC investigations certification.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business, public administration, human rights, or related field.

Please note : The salary range above represents this position’s earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $101,474 - $161,911, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Office of Human Resources (OHR) is looking for its next Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Manager to provide management and leadership to the Equal Employment Opportunity Compliance & Diversity Management team in OHR. The EEO Manager will at times act as an educator, counselor, mediator, and/or investigator on equal employment opportunity matters and assist in creating an environment where employees can work and thrive.

Your expertise will help shape policies and practices that promote equity across the organization as you accomplish these major duties:

  • Lead EEO Investigations - Take ownership of our complaint process from intake to resolution, conducting thorough investigations and developing effective corrective action plans that create positive change.
  • Drive Education Initiatives - Design and deliver engaging training programs that inspire employees and managers to embrace EEO principles and foster a culture of respect.
  • Ensure Compliance Excellence - Keep our organization at the forefront of EEO best practices while navigating the complex landscape of federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Build a High-Performing Team - Supervise, develop, and empower staff members to achieve their full potential while advancing our EEO mission.
Experience: (5) Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in human resources management or equal employment opportunity.

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business, public administration, human rights, or arelated field.

Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

  • Experience conducting EEO investigations in a unionized or public sector environment.
  • EEOC certification in investigations, or industry equivalent.
  • Experience supervising and developing staff.
