Job summary

City and County of Denver is seeking a Senior Enterprise Solutions Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture group in the Technology Services division. You will report to the Enterprise Architect and help shape IT strategies and implementations for the Mile High City.

Under guidance, you will analyze current processes, design future state architectures, and lead governance and standards development. This role emphasizes collaboration with senior management and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in enterprise/systems architecture.
• Experience leading business process re-engineering/analysis.
• Experience with enterprise-class systems development (J2EE or .NET).

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth as-is process analysis and provide to-be process integration and transformation recommendations.
• Support business process re-engineering and governance activities.
• Facilitate meetings and interview SMEs for architectural input.
• Create/update EA models and technology roadmaps.
• Document, design, architect, and develop standards and policies.
• Support project intake and Architecture Review Board with documentation and analysis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The position resides in our Enterprise Architecture group within our Technology Services (IT) Division and reports to the Enterprise Architect. At the City and County of Denver we are using state-of-the‑art technologies and methodologies to deliver and improve the systems, applications and operations that we deliver to our Mile High City. This opportunity will allow the qualified candidate to be a key-contributor to our IT Architecture team which plays a direct-role in establishing and guiding our IT strategies and implementations. About Our Job

Under guidance of the Enterprise Architect, the Senior Enterprise Solutions Architect responsibilities include:

• In-depth as‑is process analysis, to‑be process integration, transformation analysis and providing process recommendations


• Support activities including business process re‑engineering and governance


• Meeting facilitation, subject matter expert interviews


• Creation / update of EA models and technology roadmaps


• Documenting, designing, architecting and developing standards and policies


• Supporting the project intake process and Architecture Review Board with applicable documentation and analysis


• Other duties as assigned or requested

About You

Required Experience (must be demonstrated in application/resume)

Three Years Of Current Professional Level Experience Including

• Enterprise / Systems Architecture


• Business process re‑engineering / analysis


• Enterprise class systems development utilizing J2EE or .NET

Two years of current professional level experience performing project leadwork addressing / analyzing business, system and/or development‑related projects.

Required Education

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics or a related field.


• Equivalency: a combination of the appropriate type and level of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.

Preferred Experience:

• Architecture blueprint creation


• UML experience (Use Case, Class, Sequence, etc)


• Web Services design and implementation


• Object Oriented Analysis & Design expertise


• Enterprise‑scale Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) program development


• Enterprise‑scale Identity Management (IDM) program development


• Enterprise‑scale Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing (BIDW) program development


• Enterprise‑scale governances and standards programs


• Modern Software Engineering practices expertise


• Ability to advise and assist senior management sponsors in the practical application of SOA principles in a distributed system environment
