Job summary

A not-for-profit health system in Boise, Idaho, is seeking an Electroencephalographic Technician to assist with intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring. The role requires caring for patients across all age groups, documenting changes during procedures, and providing feedback to surgeons. Candidates must possess a high school diploma, EEG certification, and a minimum of two years' related experience. Competitive pay and additional bonuses are offered.

Qualifications

• Registration as Electroencephalographic Technician (REEGT) required within 24 months of hire.
• Minimum two years experience in EEG or related field; five years preferred.
• Certified Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for assigned age groups including Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.
• Provide continuous feedback to surgeon during surgical procedures.
• Document physiological and hemodynamic changes during procedures.
• Input tasks into Power Chart.

Job description

Hours and Compensation

This is a newly created position that will perform and assist with all types of intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IOM), clinical evoked potentials and routine and emergent electroencephalograms. Takes standby calls for the EEG-Lab.

Base pay range

$27.00/hr - $37.00/hr

Hours

You will have the opportunity to rotate to the Boise Regional Medical Center, three weeks a month from Monday - Friday 7:00 – 15:30. For one week each month, you will care for patients in the Nampa Medical Center, Monday – Thursday 7:00 – 17:30. On-Call is rotated which will include call pay for call during weeknights and weekends.

Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent) required or a graduate of an Electrodiagnostic program.
• Must be registered as an Electroencephalographic Technician (REEGT) by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists (ABRET) within 24 months of hire date.
• Minimum two years experience in EEG or related field. Five years’ experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
• Certified Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) preferred.

What you will do

• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as applicable).
• Provides continuous feedback to surgeon during surgical procedure and notifies neurologist as needed for overviews.
• Documents physiologic, hemodynamic, anesthetic, and artifactual changes, which occur during operating procedures.
• Demonstrates understanding of pertinent anatomy and proper evoked potential modalities to monitor those structures at risk.
• Inputs tasks in Power Chart.
• Documents task completion for inpatients and outpatients in Power Chart.
