Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX seeks an EEG Technologist to perform, monitor, and analyze EEG studies. You will educate patients, apply scalp electrodes, operate EEG equipment, and ensure patient safety under supervision of the Neurosciences director.

The role requires a High School Diploma/GED with preferred Associate or Bachelor’s degree. English proficiency is essential, and bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred. CPR certification is required, and prior clinical EEG experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; higher degree preferred.
• One year of medical setting experience preferred.
• English reading/writing/speaking required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Willingness to cross-train to other areas; strong organizational and communication skills.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead/supervisor/Director with administrative tasks to support department operations.
• Performs routine EEG testing, removals, continuous EEG placements, Hyperventilation, photic stimulation and sleep deprivation testing.
• Performs EEG monitoring, identifies abnormalities, reports and documents findings.
• Daily assignments; perform all tasks assigned.
• Keep records of EEG test appointments; working knowledge of Order Entry System.
• Sets up and operates EEG machine and distributes patient reports to hospital.
• Develops and maintains positive interpersonal relations with department personnel.
• Other duties as assigned.
