Crouse Health in Syracuse, NY is seeking an EEG/Neurophysiology Technician to provide personalized, high-quality diagnostic testing for neurological conditions.

The role is full-time days, 7:00AM-3:30PM, with responsibilities including patient preparation, recording brain activity, equipment maintenance, and training new technicians. Requires a high school diploma and EEG experience.

Responsibilities

• Accurately records patient medical history and prepares information before review by interpreting Physician.
• Prepares patients for the procedure and monitors them throughout.
• Records brain electrical activity via EEG and Evoke Potentials using clinical guidelines for electrode placement.
• Identifies and mitigates electrical interference and artifacts.
• Keeps equipment clean and functional; arranges repairs as needed.
• Assists with training and orientation of new EEG/Neurophysiology Technicians.
• Provides information to internal and external customers and educates patients/families about testing.

As an EEG/Neurophysiology Technician, your skills and expertise will be necessary to provide personalized, high-quality, cost-effective diagnostic testing for people with neurological conditions.

Schedule: Monday through Friday - 7:00AM - 3:30PM

Pay Rate: $19.75 - $33.13 / Hour

Responsibilities

• Accurately records patient medical history and prepares information prior to review by the interpreting Physician.
• Professionally prepares patients for the procedure and monitors patients throughout the process.
• Accurately records brain electrical activity through EEG and EP testing, using existing clinical guidelines for measurement and placement of electrodes.
• Competently recognizes and eliminates electrical interference and artifacts, or monitors and identifies them on record when elimination is not possible.
• Consistently ensures equipment is kept clean and in working order. Proactively identifies faulty equipment and arranges for repair, as necessary.
• Actively assists with the training and orientation of new EEG/Neurophysiology Technicians, as directed by department leadership.
• Professionally serves as informational resource to internal and external customers. Provides patient/family education related to the testing process

Required

• High school Diploma or GED
• Minimum of six (6) months of recent acute care or physician office clinical experience performing EEGs and Evoke Potentials is required. Must have the ability to fulfill on-call requests during a variety of different shift patterns within the established response time frame.
