PROVISO TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOLS DISTRICT 209 is seeking an Educator Mentor to support teachers new to the district through onboarding, resource sharing, problem-solving, and guidance in navigating district systems and professional expectations.
Mentors provide non-evaluative peer support, foster collaboration, and help new teachers access instructional resources and district materials while pursuing their own professional growth within the Induction Program.

Salary Range/Group: $2,665.14 stipend per mentee
As part of the District 209 Teacher Induction Program, teachers new to Proviso are assigned an in-district Educator Mentor to support their transition and success as members of the organization. Educator Mentors are experienced educators and trusted professionals who provide non-evaluative peer support through onboarding, resource sharing, problem-solving, and guidance in navigating district systems, procedures, and professional expectations. Mentors foster professional connections, help teachers access available resources, and contribute to a positive and collaborative school culture. Educator Mentors are committed to supporting the growth and success of their colleagues while also engaging in their own continuous learning and professional growth. They serve as peer colleagues who take a personal and direct interest in the development of new teachers. Educator Mentors do not supervise, evaluate, provide instructional coaching, or perform duties assigned to Department Chairs or administrators.
Educator Mentors provide peer support and onboarding assistance. Educator Mentors do not conduct instructional coaching cycles, classroom observations, demonstration lessons, co‑teaching, instructional feedback conferences, department professional learning, curriculum oversight, or instructional framework monitoring. These responsibilities are assigned to Department Chairs and administrators.
The selection process for Educator Mentor positions shall be structured, transparent, and aligned to the responsibilities of the role. All candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated using consistent criteria and standardized scoring measures. The process may include the following components:
