Title: Educator Teacher

Headquartered in Pennsylvania, TLC operates across multiple states, providing K-12 alternative education, comprehensive mental and behavioral health services, coaching, counseling, and trauma-informed training. Additionally, TLC collaborates with school districts, universities, hospitals, police departments, and nonprofit organizations, offering consultation services to secure federal and state grant funding.

Position Summary

The Teacher educates students in grades K-5, in core subjects such as reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. They foster academic growth, social development, and a positive classroom environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
Facilitate Learning
  • Develop a classroom culture where the Teacher is viewed as a facilitator of the learning process and not a lecturer.
  • Plan, prepare and implement lesson plans that facilitate active learning.
  • Provide personalized support to each student to develop learning plans that match each student’s needs and abilities.
  • Utilize Project-Based Learning (PBL) techniques.
  • Leverage technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Develop a multi-sensory learning environment.
Facilitate Socioemotional Development
  • Provide diverse opportunities to develop and enhance students’ social and emotional skills.
  • Promote the overall wellness (physical, mental, social, emotional) of each student.
Conduct Assessments
  • Assign and grade classwork, homework, test and assignments.
  • Monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust facilitation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress.
Develop Positive Classroom Culture
  • Build positive, compassionate classroom communities that engage learners.
  • Implement evidence-based classroom management and positive behavior support strategies.
Other Duties
  • Actively participate in department, school, district and parent meetings.
  • Initiate and maintain close contact with parents/guardians of each student.
  • Communicate information regularly to students, parents, and districts regarding student progress and needs.
  • Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies, and school regulations.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, goal attainment and behavior of students.
  • Attend meetings as scheduled and necessary with counselors, other staff and other members of the Public-School District.
Skills & Knowledge
Leadership and Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on a multi-treatment team.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in subject matter taught.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft programs.
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree and Pennsylvania Teaching Certification.

Work Environment

Public Elementary School in Coatesville, PA.

Work Hours

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 43-week position.

Travel

Minimal travel.
