The State of Maine's Education in the Unorganized Territory at Connor Consolidated School is seeking a paraprofessional to support identified special education students under their IEP. You will assist teachers, supervise in classroom, playground, and cafeteria, and help maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.

You will contribute to individualized student growth, build relationships, and help students succeed academically and personally.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Maine DOE authorization as Educational Technician I or certification as Teacher/Educational Specialist preferred.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with teachers and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to identified special education students per IEP.
  • Assist teachers with routine tasks and classroom preparation.
  • Supervise playground and cafeteria to promote safety.
  • Maintain accurate student records (attendance, progress, grades).

It involves paraprofessional support work that includes assisting teachers with routine tasks such as classroom preparation, playground and cafeteria supervision, and providing assistance to students with academic and functional needs. The position also maintains accurate student records—such as attendance, progress, and grades—to support classroom operations. Additional responsibilities include supervising students in various settings to promote safety and order, supporting the development of daily living and motor skills, and offering motivation to help students achieve academic success.
