Job summary

United Charter High Schools in the Bronx, NY, seeks an Assistant Principal for Advanced Math & Science II to lead instructional improvement across grades 9–12 and partner with the Principal and counselors to ensure rigorous, equitable learning in a high-need urban setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Education, NYS School Leader certification, 7+ years in high schools, and proven success coaching staff; salary ranges from $135k–$175k, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, School Leadership or Education Administration/Management.
• 7+ years experience at the high school level with student outcomes improvements.
• 2+ years coaching and supervising educators.
• New York State School Building Leader or School District Leader certification.
• Experience in urban public schools strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the academic preparation and requisite support for all students to prepare for college and career.
• Reinforce and institutionalize network practices through observation, coaching, and evaluation.
• Foster connections between academic learning, the community, and the natural world.
• Teach, co-teach and model effective instructional practices in classrooms.
• Oversee discipline plans, extracurricular activities, and partnerships with community organizations.
