Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in educational assessment is required.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate required.
• Valid Texas educational diagnostician certificate required.
• Minimum of three years’ experience as a classroom or special education teacher.
• Knowledge of diagnostic procedures and special education practices.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Receive referrals and implement the assessment and evaluation process.
• Select and administer formal and informal assessments to determine eligibility for special education services.
• Collect and organize assessment data from multiple sources.
• Conduct classroom observations and personal interviews.
• Participate in ARD Committee to interpret assessment data and develop IEPs.
• Develop and coordinate evaluation of the assessment program and maintain reports and records.
• Comply with district, state, and federal policies in assessment and planning for special education services.
• Maintain relationships with staff and families; communicate effectively.
