The Hawaii State Department of Education is recruiting Educational Assistants for Wahiawa. Positions are at Educational Assistant III level with eligibility down to Educational Assistant I if needed.

The salary ranges from $3,019.78 to $3,526.98 per month depending on level. Responsibilities include student tutoring, social and daily living instruction for students with disabilities, counseling support, and speech articulation reinforcement under supervision of licensed staff.

Competenze

• Graduation from high school or equivalent with qualifying education under NCLB Act.
• Successful completion of a ParaPro or ParaPathways assessment (ETS).
• At least 48 baccalaureate credits including 3 in mathematics and 3 in English.
• An associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.

Mansioni

• Independently tutors students in specified knowledge areas as directed by the teacher and reports on progress.
• Provide social, vocational and daily living instruction to students with disabilities in school or community settings.
• Offer counseling support, build rapport with students and encourage healthy self-concepts.
• Provide articulation reinforcement lessons and drills for speech as guided by the speech pathologist.
