POSITION: EDUCATION ASSISTANT I - FOR FUTURE EDUCATOR (Sponsored by CTWS Grow Your Own grant)

START DATE: January6, 2025

LOCATION: Warm Springs K-8 Academy

HOURS: 8 hours a day

MUST BE: Enrolled in a K-8 teacher education program, and Native Language program.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE (Minimum Qualifications)

Have a high school diploma or the equivalent;
Be at least 18 years of age;
Have standards of moral character as required of teachers (OAR 584-005-0005);
Native language speaker

Educational Assistants must have:

Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education; or obtained an Associate’s (or higher) degree; or met a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate through a formal state, or local academic assessment or para-educator certificate program, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing: Reading, writing, and mathematics; or reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate (Assessment is offered by District).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1-2 years experience working as an educational assistant in a k-12 school district.
Some college coursework.

COMPENSATION

Wage Schedule:$18.69 - $23.56 per hour (Sponsored by CTWS Grow Your Own grant)
Work days:180 (10 month)
Personal days, Sick days
JCSD 509-J pays the employee’s share (6%) of the Public Employees Retirement System Contribution
