Job description

These positions are for Educational Assistant III authorized level but applications are accepted down to Educational Assistant I.

Salary

Educational Assistant I: $3,019.78 per month
Educational Assistant II: $3,260.76 per month
Educational Assistant III: $3,526.98 per month

Responsibilities
  • Independently performs various academic, instruction‑related support activities, tutors students in a specified aspect of knowledge as directed by the teacher, and observes and reports on student progress and difficulties.
  • Independently provides social, vocational, and daily living instruction to students with disabilities in a school and/or community setting to enable them to function as independently as possible, observes and reports on progress and suggests modifications to techniques and tasks.
  • Independently performs assigned counseling support activities, develops rapport with students, encourages expression of problems, observes and reports on progress, and carries out pre‑approved activities that promote a healthy self‑concept, develop social skills, and help provide early identification of special needs.
  • Independently provides articulation reinforcement lessons and repetitive drills to correct/improve speech sounds as instructed and guided by the speech pathologist, and may receive training related to common speech/language disorders and the methods and techniques used in speech therapy.
Qualifications
  • Graduated high school or equivalent and meet one of the following: successful completion of a ParaPro or ParaPathways assessment; at least 48 baccalaureate‑level semester credits with required credits; or an associate or higher degree.
  • Experience requirements: Educational Assistant I – 0 years; Educational Assistant II – 1 year; Educational Assistant III – 1 year general and 1 year specialized experience.
  • Driver’s license may be required for some positions.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 pounds, or lift up to 100 pounds with assistance for some positions.
