Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to classroom teachers to create a safe, welcoming, and high-quality learning environment.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and Divine Savior staff to support students and classroom tasks.
• Support the implementation of planned curriculum and lessons.
• Ensure classroom expectations are followed consistently.
• Follow classroom and school procedures to ensure student safety.
• Observe student work and provide support as needed.
• Redirect children's behavior to increase attention and focus.
• Support children who are not understanding lessons and guide them individually or in small groups.
• Engage in positive teacher-child interactions in the classroom.
• Build strong relationships with students, parents, families, and colleagues.
• Contribute to team-building exercises with staff.

Educational Assistant

The Educational Assistants are responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in the implementation of the curriculum and the completion of daily tasks. Educational Assistants support Divine Savior Academy in its mission of providing excellence in education, rooted in the timely truths of God’s Word.

Duties

• Provide assistance to classroom teachers as they seek to provide children with a safe, welcoming, and high-quality learning environment
• Collaborate with their classroom teachers and the Divine Savior staff as a whole, to support their students and carry out their classroom tasks
• Supports the implementation of the planned curriculum and lessons
