Summary

This position is part of the Haskell Indian Nations University, Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), Department of the Interior (DOI). As a Education Technician (TRIO) you will be responsible for promoting academic success, student retention, and graduation while providing direct administrative and technical support to the TRIO Director.

Major Duties
  • Conduct interviews with students to verify program eligibility and academic needs.
  • Coordinate student referrals for tutoring, counseling, academic advising, and other university or community support services.
  • Provide technical support and customer service to students participating in the TRIO Program.
  • Maintain student academic files and assist in monitoring student academic progress.
  • Manage various databases of prospective and current Native American students in the local and national school systems.
  • Track student progress by gathering, compiling, validating, and maintaining data related to grades, attendance, retention, transfers, and graduation rates.
