Columbia Heights Public Schools is seeking applications for Education Assistants for the 2026-2027 school year. This Education Assistant Pool offers a chance to work with students across the district in various classrooms, with a typical schedule of 6.5 hours per day and 183 days per year.

Salary ranges from $24.60 to $25.63 per hour, with benefits including medical, dental and retirement savings options. Position requires passing para-professional tests or related credentials and a high school

Competenze

• Two years of study at an institution of higher education; Minnesota's standard: A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full time enrollment as determined by the institution attended;
• OR
• An Associate's degree; or Minnesota's standard: An AA, AS, AAS (or higher) degree;
• OR
• A demonstration, through a formal state academic assessment: knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and math; or knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading readiness, writing readiness and mathematics readiness as appropriate.

• Re-words and re-writes directions for assignments so students understand assignments.
• Assists students with personal needs, organizational skills and responsibilities.
• Escorts students to and from class, buses, lunch and special assignment areas.
