Job summary

The ideal candidate will be capable of working with diverse students, maintain confidentiality, and support inclusion for learners with special needs.

Qualifications

• Assists and reinforces reading, language arts, mathematics and computer instruction.
• Supports implementation of instructional programs under supervision.
• Assists in administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments.
• Maintains classroom materials and prepares strategies for individual needs.
• Helps with record-keeping documenting student learning and performance.
• Supports behavior management to keep a safe and orderly classroom.

Responsibilities

• Assists with guiding students to reinforce reading, math and related skills.
• Assists in small groups to reinforce learning and implement programs.
• Assists staff with administration of classroom exercises and assessments.
• Assists with classroom preparations and instructional materials.
• Assists with record-keeping of student performance.
• Assists with behavior management to maintain safety and order.
• Supervises students in non-instructional areas and at lunch, bus duty, playground, corridors, study hall.
• Accompanies students on field trips for supervision.
