Job summary

The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (ADJC) seeks a Superintendent of Education to supervise all Juvenile Educational Services and collaborate with external institutions on Adobe Mountain School programs. You will ensure compliance with laws and policies while guiding education staff in a team environment.

Join ADJC to mentor correctional education staff, drive program goals, manage grants, and participate in executive planning.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Master’s degree or higher with at least 60 graduate semester hours.
  • Must hold Superintendent Certification.
  • Experience leading educational programs in a correctional setting is preferred.
  • Strong supervisory and collaboration skills with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares reports, proposals, and policies related to juvenile education.
  • Develops and administers education curriculum in accordance with federal and state laws.
  • Provides supervision of correctional education staff, including performance monitoring and onboarding/offboarding.
  • Collects statistical data, analyzes and distributes as required by law.
  • Develops annual education program goals and objectives.
  • Manages education grants and drafts proposals for new funding.
  • Serves on the agency’s executive management team and supports strategic planning.
  • Partners with ADE and other agencies to advance education programs.
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment.
