Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking an Education Specialist BSN to support nursing staff development through the care delivery process and ongoing education.

The role emphasizes orientation, in-services, CPR training and continuous education programs to meet agency goals and improve patient care. The ideal candidate holds an RN license in New Jersey or Pennsylvania, a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), and at least 3 years of clinical nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in New Jersey or Pennsylvania, based on work location, required.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of current clinical nursing experience.
• BLS Instructor status within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates orientation, in-services, CPR training and continuing education programs to support agency goals and objectives.
• Assures compliance with orientation policies and procedures.
• Functions as a professional role model and mentor.
• Completes and submits documentation for educational programming and maintains unit records.
• Assists with educational projects and contributes to innovations in practice and education.

Maintains unit recordsAssists with educational projects as assignedContributes to the development and change of the health care delivery system by facilitating innovations in practice and educationParticipates in Quality Improvement activitiesSupports the activities that enhance the health status of the community servedPHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:Occasionally lift and/or carry 50 lbs. Frequently lift and/or carry 25 lbs. Being able to frequently lift or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds is often more critical that being able to lift up to 50 lbs at a time. Stand and/or walk at least 6 hours in an 8-hour workday. Stooping (bending at the waist) and crouching (stooping and bending at the knee) required frequently. Handling (grasping) required frequently. Fingering (fine manipulation) occasionally required.EDUCATION:Current RN license in the State of New Jersey or Pennsylvania, based on work location, required. Bachelor’s degree required. Masters preferred. BLS Instructor preferred.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:At least 3 years of current clinical nursing experience.
