Job summary

Casa Grande Elementary School District Early Childhood Learning Center is seeking an Education Specialist - Inclusive Education to support special education students and relieve teachers of clerical tasks. The role includes assisting with daily care, adapting materials, and implementing instructional programs.

Starting immediately, this 10-month school year position involves collaboration with teachers, attendance at IEP meetings, and providing documentation of student work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pre-employment proficiency test.
• Criminal Justice/fingerprint clearance.
• Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the teacher.
• Administers tests.
• Assists special education students requiring daily care (e.g. toileting, feeding).
• Attends Individual Education Program meetings with assigned student(s).
• Confers with teachers and/or parents as may be required.
• Implements instructional programs and lesson plans (e.g. reading, math, language, comprehension, writing, computer).
• Instructs students (individual or small groups) (e.g. reading, spelling, self esteem, behavioral skills, daily living skills).
• Maintains classroom equipment, work areas, student files/records (e.g. grading, adapting materials, AV equipment).
• Monitors and assists special education students during assigned periods within various school environments (classrooms, restrooms, hallways, cafeteria, labs, field trips, on/off buses).
• Participates in in-service workshops and training.
• Performs record keeping and clerical functions (scheduling, copying, materials, grading).
• Picks up and/or delivers homework/assignments to students at home.
• Provides documentation of students' work.
• Responds to emergency situations (e.g. injured students, fights).
• Assists other personnel as may be required.

• Monitors and assists special education students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments, (e.g. classrooms, rest rooms, hallways, cafeteria, labs, field trips, on/off buses, etc.)
• Participates in in-service workshops and training
• Performs record keeping and clerical functions, (e.g. scheduling, copying, instructional materials, correcting papers, compiling list, etc.)
• Picks up and/or delivers homework/assignments to students at home
• Provides documentation of students' work
• Responds to emergency situations, (e.g. injured students, fights, etc.)
• Assists other personnel as may be required
