Job summary

EcoRise seeks a self-motivated Education Specialist for a part-time contract position based in the San Francisco, CA metro area. The role supports our teacher-facing programs, including outreach, customized instructional support, and professional development design and facilitation, reporting to the Assistant Director of School Programs.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of teaching experience in a K-12 classroom; experience supporting instructional pedagogy and environmental education is preferred.
  • Experience designing and facilitating teacher professional development.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for EcoRise's mission, with familiarity with environmental education and public K-12 education systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with experience working effectively with racially, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse communities.
  • Ability to successfully execute multiple, simultaneous projects on time with high-quality results.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps.
  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and give and receive feedback.
  • Access to a personal vehicle and ability to travel within and around San Francisco and work occasional nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with educators in the Francisco area, including SFUSD, through multi-channel outreach to support EcoRise lessons and resources.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual school site visits to provide direct coaching and support to participating teachers.
  • Support the program team in planning and facilitating professional learning for educators.
  • Support the program team in the Student Innovation Project grant process, including reviewing applications, providing feedback, and facilitating funding.
  • Manage ongoing teacher communications and maintain accurate records in Salesforce.
  • Support the program team with virtual and in-person Student Innovation Showcases, including teacher recruitment, teacher and student preparation, on-site logistics, and outreach to community members and green professional volunteers.

EcoRise seeks a self-motivated, highly organized Education Specialist for a part-time contract position based in the San Francisco, California metro area. The Education Specialist will support our program team to grow our teacher-facing programs across Francisco and surrounding areas and will be responsible for teacher outreach and engagement, customized instructional support, and professional development design and facilitation. The Education Specialist will report to the Assistant Director of School Programs.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with educators in the Francisco area, including Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD), through multi-channel outreach (including email, video calls, and in-person visits) to support the successful implementation of EcoRise lessons and resources.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual school site visits to provide direct coaching and support to participating teachers.
  • Support the program team in planning and facilitating professional learning for educators.
  • Support the program team in the Student Innovation Project grant process, including reviewing applications, providing feedback, and facilitating funding.

Timeline and Compensation

The project is expected to take 10-15 hours per month, running from November 2026 through June 2027, for a total of approximately 100 hours. The hourly rate for this position is $35.
