Our Office of Professional Learning (OPL) supports out-of-school time (OST) programs nationwide through professional learning, resources, and technical assistance.

The Role

Foundations is seeking an Education Specialist to lead projects from start to finish, managing timelines, partnerships, data, and results with independence. This role is well suited for an experienced educator who wants to apply classroom or out-of-school time experience to initiatives that strengthen the programs and educators supporting students beyond the school day.

Education Specialists contribute directly to improving the quality of out-of-school time programs by helping organizations strengthen staff practice, program design, and learning experiences for young people.

What You Will Do

• Lead OST projects from planning through completion, managing scope, timelines, deliverables, and partner communication.
• Build and sustain relationships with schools, districts, nonprofit partners, and community-based organizations.
• Design and facilitate professional learning experiences in person and online, engaging audiences from small groups to 300+ participants.
• Coordinate resources, tools, and training supports to strengthen OST programs and educator practice.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Office of Professional Learning to design resources, develop training materials, and support partner organizations.
• Support program evaluation and continuous improvement through site visits, surveys, interviews, and other feedback tools.

What We Are Looking For

• At least 2–3 years of classroom teaching or OST experience with a strong understanding of educational practices, systems, and terminology.
• A proactive and accountable approach with the ability to manage projects independently and move work forward with limited supervision.
• Strong writing, facilitation, and communication skills with adult learners and partner organizations.
• Experience with grant-funded work and a demonstrated ability to meet compliance and accountability requirements.
• Proficiency with technology used for professional learning and collaboration, including learning management systems, virtual training platforms, and shared project tools.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30–40 percent for partner visits, conferences, and training delivery.

A Week in the Life

No two weeks look the same, but you might spend Monday facilitating a virtual training for OST staff, Tuesday and Wednesday collaborating with colleagues to design new training modules, Thursday researching resources and materials to support providers, and Friday visiting OST programs to gather data through surveys, interviews, or observations to identify professional development needs.

Each week you will balance independent project management with collaboration across the team, always focused on helping educators and programs strengthen learning opportunities for students.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $65,000–$80,000

Hybrid Work Schedule

This position is based at Foundations' Mount Laurel, New Jersey office. Team members typically work two days per week on-site, with the remaining days remote, depending on project needs, travel, and event schedules.
