Lozano Smith's Walnut Creek office is seeking a Generalist Education Attorney with at least 3 years of experience to support public school districts in a wide range of education law matters in California. This role offers opportunities to impact the K-12 education system through public service and meaningful work.

The attorney will advise on governance, student rights and discipline, Title IX, IDEA/Section 504, contracts, and compliance, and may represent clients in administrative hearings,

Qualifications

• J.D. degree required.
• California Bar admission in good standing.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Passion for advocating for educational institutions and public agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to K-12 public school districts on governance, student issues, contracts, and compliance.
• Advise on student rights and discipline, Title IX, IDEA/Section 504, and public records issues.
• Represent clients in administrative hearings and OCR proceedings.
