Unknown Law Firm is seeking an Education Law Attorney to support school boards and educational agencies in Central Florida. This remote role requires travel a few times per month to meet with clients and attend board sessions.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience, strong writing and advisory skills, and familiarity with Title IX, IDEA, FERPA, and Florida education statutes. Remote work with periodic in-person meetings is supported.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Florida, in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in education law, municipal law, or government/public entity representation.
  • Familiarity with Florida school board governance and administrative law.
  • Strong writing, advisory, and public-speaking skills.
  • Comfortable working remotely with periodic in-person client travel.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as counsel to school board and educational agency clients on governance and operational matters.
  • Advise on compliance with federal and Florida education law, including Title IX, IDEA, FERPA, and Florida statutes governing public education.
  • Attend and advise at school board meetings, workshops, and hearings (in person as needed).
  • Draft and review policies, contracts, and administrative resolutions.
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings, including student discipline, employment, and special education matters.
  • Advise on public records, Sunshine Law, and procurement compliance.
  • Coordinate with litigation team on disputes involving school board clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with school board members, superintendents, and administrative staff.
  • Travel within Central Florida a few times per month for in-person client meetings and board sessions.

Overview:

A well-established law firm is seeking an Education Law Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join its team, focusing on representation of school boards and other educational entities across Central Florida. This is a remote position, with travel required a few times per month to meet with clients.
