Job summary

The North Shore YMCA Salem is hiring a Full-Time Inclusion Specialist to support children across Early Learning, onsite OST, and onsite Summer Camp programs. You will coach staff, collaborate with families and schools, and implement individualized strategies to promote inclusive practices and positive outcomes.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and have experience with diverse populations, IEPs, and behavior plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or Psychology is preferred.
  • Experience supporting children from preschool to school-age years is required.
  • Experience in Early Learning, OST, childcare, camp, or behavioral support settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development, social-emotional learning, positive behavior support, and inclusive practices is required.
  • Familiarity with IEPs, behavior plans, accommodations, and/or early intervention services is preferred.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Ability to work with children, families, staff, schools, and community partners; coach staff in inclusion practices.
