El Camino Real Charter High School is seeking a Chief Business Officer to lead the school's financial strategy and operations. The role oversees budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial reporting, reporting to the Executive Director and Board to ensure sustainable growth.

The CBO will manage cash flow, investment policies, payroll, and employee benefits, while directing risk management and external audits. A CPA/CMA is highly desired; a MBA and public education experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
• MBA preferred; CPA and/or CMA highly desired.
• Graduate degree and public education experience are strongly preferred.
• Extensive experience in financial management, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
• TB test clearance and DOJ Live Scan clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a long-term financial strategy aligned with the school's mission.
• Lead annual operating budget processes and allocate resources across programs.
• Oversee forecasting, financial planning, audits, and GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and investment policies.
• Supervise payroll, benefits programs, and tax reporting.
• Lead risk management and coordinate with external auditors and regulators.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align financial plans with strategic priorities.
