  • Bachelor's or master’s in communications, journalism or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1–3 years of editing or related experience.

  • Strong people-management and problem solving skills.
  • Comfortable on camera and interacting with readers and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of audience analytics, SEO and engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a two-person education reporting team and a statewide education reporting fellow.
  • Set priorities for statewide education coverage to maximize impact.
  • Guide reporters through story development, editing, and publication processes.
