Job summary

Acelero Learning Wisconsin is looking for an Education Director responsible for ensuring high-quality early childhood education across all center-based classrooms and programs. You will supervise Site Managers, provide coaching, and facilitate professional development while complying with Head Start standards.

Job description

Education Director

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Education Director ensures successful and high-quality early childhood education for all center-based classrooms, the home‑based program, and family day care homes.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure full implementation of site policies, procedures, and tools to support children in achieving School Readiness Goals.
  • Directly supervise Site Managers and an Early Learning and Inclusion Specialist, coaching and mentoring teaching staff.
  • Facilitate monthly professional learning communities for curriculum planning and assessment data.
  • Assist education staff in implementing early learning curriculum with fidelity.
  • Apply expertise in a performance‑based assessment system to support teachers in understanding child outcomes data and using results to plan and individualize instruction.
  • Track child outcomes and program quality assessment data across classrooms and analyze data to recommend program development.
  • Plan and implement comprehensive, differentiated professional development for education staff.
  • Provide monthly coaching and support for quality improvement and professional growth through observation and feedback, covering CLASS, learning environments, curriculum assessment, meeting children’s needs, working with families, and collaboration.
  • Guide teaching staff in supporting children with developmental, social‑emotional, and behavioral concerns.
  • Support development and execution of quality improvement plans, obtaining resources, and using the assessment cycle during workgroups.
  • Collaborate with education team and other service areas (Family Services, Mental Health, Nutrition) to coordinate initiatives.
  • Conduct and lead interviews and onboarding of teaching staff as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and 1‑on‑1s to coordinate education services across the Head Start program.
  • Communicate effectively in written or verbal format to groups of all sizes and individuals.
  • Maintain documentation of monitoring, coaching, and training activities in Ft. George’s existing systems.
  • Complete monthly reports on area activities, progress toward goals, and recommended plan modifications.
  • Hold monthly meetings with education team to monitor performance, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to Head Start performance standards.
  • Ensure compliance with program employee recruitment and selection procedures, equal employment opportunity, legal hiring practices, and internal policies.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Early Childhood and Permanent Certificate (B‑2 N‑6).
  • Minimum of three years of experience supervising and coaching in an early childhood setting.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, organize efficiently, and communicate effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for groups of all sizes.
  • Prior Head Start experience is desired.
  • Experience with Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold assessment system.
  • Reliability in CLASS and ECERS‑R.
