Job summary

The Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential seeks an Education Consultant to lead development of regulations, rules, procedures, and policies for 21st CCLC programs and to oversee major grant funding from state and federal sources.

You will work with local districts and community-based partners to design, implement, and evaluate programs, ensuring compliance, accountability, and positive outcomes for Michiganders across K-12 and early childhood education.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in education and one year administrative or consultative experience in K-12 or early childhood education, equivalent to Education Consultant 11, or two years including one year at Education Consultant 12.

MiLEAP was created by Governor Whitmer in July 2023 and is the newest department in the State of Michigan.

The function and purpose of this 21st CCLC position are to provide leadership and direction in the development of regulations, rules, procedures, and policies as they relate to 21st CCLC Programs grants and supports for the families of enrolled students. A primary responsibility is the management of state and/or federal funding for major grant programs. The 21st CCLC Education Consultant works with local school districts, and other community-based agencies, on program development, implementation, and evaluation.

Position Description
Required Education And Experience

This position generally requires possession of a master's degree in a field of education and one year of administrative or consultative experience in the field of K-12 or early childhood education equivalent to the Education Consultant 11 OR two years of administrative or consultative experience in the field of K-12 or early childhood education, including one year equivalent to an Education Consultant 12. Specific information on the education and experience required for the position is in the job specification for the Education Consultant class.

An official transcript must bear the college/university certification (e.g., seal, logo, watermark, and /or letterhead), Registrar's signature, and date. A transcript with these requirements, with the stamp "Issued to Student" is accepted as an official transcript. Unofficial transcripts will NOT be accepted. An unofficial transcript is: (1) an internet copy printed from the college/university student web account; (2) a transcript stamped with "Student Copy," and (3) a transcript that is labeled as "Unofficial." The official transcript must be scanned and attached to the electronic NEOGOV Civil Service application with one of the following file extensions: pdf, doc, docx, txt, or rft. Degree certificates are not accepted. When attaching transcripts, please name the college/university for each transcript attached.
