Job summary

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community's Playworks Educare Assistant Teacher position invites you to support teachers in early childhood education, focusing on the emotional, mental, and knowledge growth of our young learners.

You will supervise children, help plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum across physical, cognitive, social, language, and cultural areas, and maintain a calm, patient classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and meet MN Rule 3 guidelines for Assistant Teacher.
• Minimum of one year in an early childhood classroom.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Background check, drug test, and physical may be required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children and provide care, promoting safety and well-being.
• Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Support teachers in activities across physical, cognitive, social, language, and cultural areas.
• Maintain classroom records and communicate with families and supervisor.
• Assist in evacuation procedures and ensure secure release of children to authorized people.
