Job summary

Transylvania County Schools in Brevard, NC seeks a Technology Technician for the Technology Services Department. The position is full-time with a 12-month employment term and benefits, and begins August 17, 2026.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Coursework in computer IT may substitute year-for-year for the required experience.
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and repair manuals.
  • Ability to systematically troubleshoot standard electronic devices.
  • Experience with technology support and user assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs, maintains, and upgrades technology-related equipment.
  • Provides technical support to users for setup, operation, troubleshooting, and software installations.
  • Reads schematics and manuals to provide required technical support.
  • Manages work orders and clerical support for the technology program.
  • Manages Active Directory Users and Groups.
  • Manages Google Workspace for Education.

Skills

Strong knowledge of computers

LAN knowledge
A/V equipment knowledge
Familiarity with test equipment
