Job summary

Do312 Content Manager in Chicago leads the daily newsletter, curating and editing content that translates the city’s events and scenes into engaging experiences across email, web, and social.

You’ll manage editorial planning, grow audiences, and collaborate with partners while overseeing freelancers and contributors. This full-time, hybrid role requires three days in the office, with compensation ranging from $60k to $80k based on experience.

Qualifications

• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Three+ years of editorial, content, social media, digital marketing, local media, events, or entertainment experience.
• Strong pulse on emerging trends across content channels, cultural moments, and audience behaviors.
• Deep connection to Chicago and knowledge of its music, nightlife, arts, events, neighborhoods, and local culture.
• Excellent organization and ability to manage multiple channels, deadlines, and collaborators.
• Experience using performance data to improve content and comfort with newsletter, CMS, social and project-management tools.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members and giving actionable feedback.

Responsibilities

• Own the daily Do312 newsletter from planning through send, including writing, editing, curation, quality control, and performance improvement.
• Shape and maintain a forward-looking editorial calendar covering major events, local trends, seasonal moments, audience needs, and partner opportunities.
• Create and edit distinctive guides, roundups, interviews, recurring features, and evergreen content for the website.
• Maintain a high-quality website by keeping event listings, venue and artist pages, guides, and other core content accurate and current.
• Lead our social content strategy and develop platform-native posts across channels.
• Use data to improve content and boost engagement across newsletter, website, and social channels.
• Make Do312 MORE a natural, valuable part of the content ecosystem with storytelling, ticket promotions, and audience education.
• Work with Sales and Accounts to deliver sponsored content that stays true to the Do312 voice.
• Manage freelancers, interns, and contributors to keep content consistent and on schedule.
• Build relationships with venues, artists, promoters, and brands to create exclusive content and experiences.
