Job summary

The FADER is seeking a curious Editorial Intern in New York to join our lively culture and music team. You will collaborate with editors and writers to cover music news, conduct artist interviews, and craft social copy.

You will learn transcription, research, and CMS workflows while contributing to web stories that follow our style guide. This is a hands-on role for someone eager to grow in journalism and music journalism.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Journalism, Communications, English, Media Studies, or related field.
• Able to meet deadlines, work quickly and accurately, and have a willingness to learn.
• Curiosity about music and culture across genres.

Responsibilities

• Cover music news from new releases to tour announcements, and contribute to FADER tentpole series like Songs You Need.
• Transcribe interviews and conduct story research for the editorial team.
• Learn CMS to format and build web stories according to The FADER’s style guide.
• Interview artists, write about cultural trends, and research regional scenes.
• Attend concerts and other live events on behalf of The FADER.
