Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a communications professional to assist in organizing and implementing projects and programs. The role involves writing feature stories and news articles for university channels and newsletters, while contributing to internal communications and editorial planning.

You will research, draft, and edit content, conduct interviews with faculty, staff, students, and alumni, and help shape messaging that reflects the university's voice and values.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent; no experience required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Canva or experience with web content platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Embody the TTUHSC shared values of kindhearted, integrity, one team, visionary and beyond service.
• Follow all TTUS and TTUHSC Operating, IT and Safety policies and complete all trainings as required.
• Research, draft, and edit content for internal announcements, newsletters, and other internal communication channels.
• Write feature stories, profiles, and news articles for the university magazine and/or Daily Dose.
• Assist in developing messaging that aligns with the university's voice and values.
• Conduct interviews with faculty, staff, students, and alumni as needed.
• Collaborate with other team members to brainstorm and pitch story ideas.
• Support the editorial calendar and track project progress and deadlines.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to planning efforts.
• Assist with basic administrative or project-based tasks as assigned.
• Contribute to the overall success of the University and External Relations Division by performing other duties as assigned.
