Job summary

Approved Experiences, Inc. is seeking an experienced Editor to lead The Approved List, our quarterly publication featuring travel, dining, wellness and luxury lifestyle.

You will commission pieces, edit to standard, and guide contributors from concept to publication. You will manage freelancers, set editorial calendars, and align coverage with member travel patterns while upholding style and voice across all content.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in editorial roles at a publication with high production standards.
• Strong editing instincts across long-form narrative and short-form recommendations.
• Experience managing freelance contributors and meeting deadlines and quality.

Responsibilities

• Plan and produce quarterly edition of The Approved List from concept through publication.
• Commission, assign, and edit long-form features, destination briefs, and property reviews.
• Manage a stable of freelance contributors and maintain quality.
• Develop editorial calendar balancing evergreen content with seasonal relevance.

You'll commission pieces, direct contributors, edit to standard, and ensure every edition meets the bar that earns trust from a discerning readership.## Responsibilities* Plan and produce each quarterly edition of The Approved List from concept through publication.* Commission, assign, and edit long-form features, destination briefs, and property reviews.* Manage a stable of freelance contributors — set expectations, provide feedback, and maintain quality.* Develop and maintain the editorial calendar, balancing evergreen content with seasonal relevance.* Collaborate with the travel curation team to align editorial coverage with member travel patterns.* Set and enforce style, voice, and editorial standards across all published content.## Qualifications* 5+ years in editorial roles — commissioning editor, managing editor, or equivalent — at a publication with high production standards.* Strong editing instincts across long-form narrative, service journalism, and short-form recommendations.* Experience managing freelance contributors and holding them to deadline and quality.* Deep familiarity with travel, hospitality, or luxury lifestyle categories.* Clean, precise prose style and the ability to elevate other writers' work without flattening their voice.## Nice to have* Prior work at a travel or lifestyle publication (Condé Nast Traveler, Departures, Monocle, etc.).* Experience with editorial CMS platforms and production workflows.* A personal network of travel and lifestyle writers you trust.
