Job summary

TelevisaUnivision in Miami, FL is seeking a part-time Editor for the News team. You will edit daily news stories, breaking news, and special reports using non-linear editing systems to ensure timely on-air delivery and high-quality storytelling.

Collaborating with producers, reporters, and the control room, you will locate suitable footage, align cuts to scripts, and help refine production details. Bilingual English/Spanish, you bring at least two years of video editing experience and expertise

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Broadcast Communications.
• At least 2 years of experience in video editing.
• Expert knowledge of Avid Media Composer and I-news rundown.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish communication both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Edit daily news stories, breaking news, special reports as assigned using non-linear editing equipment.
• Work closely with Content Management and Engineering team on technical incidents.
• Find content on feeds to properly edit the script.
• Collaborate with reporters and producers to edit materials to match scripts and provide production suggestions.
• Coordinate with master control for final submission of the show.
• Search for archive videos to edit the story and consolidate videos for archive after shows.
• Work efficiently to ensure videos go on air on time.
• Provide creative ideas for continuous improvement.
• May be required to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.

This role will work closely with producers, reporters, and control room to ensure flawless execution of on-air products.**ABOUT YOU:**If you enjoy editing content into images that speak volumes, have an eye for details, and have a passion for storytelling, this role may be for you.**YOUR DAY-DAY:*** Edit daily news stories, breaking news, special reports as assigned using non-linear, computer-based editing equipment.* Work closely with the Content Management and Engineering team on any technical incidents.
