Fanatics in New York City is seeking an Editor, Basketball to lead end-to-end editorial for trading card projects. You will work with Editorial leadership, Product Development, Art, and production partners to deliver accurate, compelling collectibles.

The role combines editorial content development, photography selection, subject-list management, proofing, and Basketball knowledge within a deadline-driven production environment. A Bachelor's degree and basketball knowledge are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in Basketball, including the MLB, MiLB, and Nippon Basketball League.
• Ability to accurately identify a broad range of current and former Basketball players.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning new content-management and workflow systems.

Role Summary

The Editor, Basketball supports the end-to-end editorial process for assigned trading card projects, working closely with Editorial leadership, Product Development, Art, Project Management, and production partners to deliver accurate, compelling, and innovative collectible products. This role combines editorial content development, photography selection, subject-list management, proofing, and Basketball subject-matter knowledge within a deadline-driven production environment.

Responsibilities

Editorial & Content

• Select, assign, and crop high-quality photography appropriate to product design, licensing requirements, and brand standards.
• Coordinate text- and statistics-based card-back content for collectible trading card products.
• Build, maintain, and update subject lists in partnership with Product Development.
• Review editorial content, proofs, and layouts for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Apply established licensor style guides, editorial standards, and internal quality requirements.
• Identify photography acquisition needs and communicate requests in support of production schedules.

Production & Collaboration

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external content, imaging, and prepress partners throughout the production and correction process.
• Complete assigned work in accordance with established project schedules, priorities, and deadlines.
• Identify and elevate issues involving editorial content, imagery, licensing, or production workflow.
• Maintain accurate project information and status updates within applicable content-management and workflow systems.
• Communicate proactively with Editorial leadership and cross-functional partners when information, assets, or approvals are needed.

Product Development

• Participate in product reviews and brainstorming sessions for assigned programs.
• Collaborate with Product Development and Art to contribute editorial, imagery, and Basketball-specific perspective to product concepts and execution.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior internship or professional experience in editorial, publishing, sports media, content production, collectibles, or a related field.
• Familiarity with photography, graphic design, print production, or digital asset management.
• Familiarity with brand standards, style guides, or licensed consumer products.

This salary range is specific to New York City and may not be applicable to other locations. $67,280—$77,500 USD
