Job summary

Flooring Services LTD in East Bernard, TX, is seeking an Edgebanding Operator to manage the edgebander, adjust for various materials, and keep a clean, safe workspace. You will work with supervision on daily priorities and ensure timely completion of tasks.

You will perform preventive maintenance, document activities, and set up equipment for optimum performance while meeting hourly goals and adhering to 5S standards.

Qualifications

• Must have basic reading and writing skills.
• Ability to read a measuring tape and perform basic math.
• Ability to identify various colors.
• Previous computer skills; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate the edgebander and adjust for different materials.
• Communicate with supervisor, lead, and gatekeeper on daily schedules and priorities.
• Perform preventive maintenance and housekeeping per 5S standards.
• Complete daily scheduled work and ensure quality of processed parts.
• Document preventive maintenance, quality control, downtime, and production quantities.
• Notify supervisor or lead to order raw materials as needed.
• Set up the edgebander for optimum performance and adjust as needed.
• Additional duties as assigned by Dept. Supervisor or lead.

Job Summary

The Edgebanding Operator is responsible for the overall operation of the edgebander, Make the necessary adjustments for the different materials, Preventive maintenance and housekeeping tasks are also appointed.

Responsible for communicating with supervisor, lead, and gatekeeper on daily schedules, and priorities such as rush orders, samples, remakes, etc.

Responsible for preventative maintenance action items performed daily by training authorizations. Notify supervisor or lead of machine breakdowns and continuous rejects or quality issues.

Responsible for completing the daily scheduled work and the quality of the processed parts.

Responsible for all documentation of preventive maintenance, quality control, downtown, and production quantities.

Notify the supervisor or lead to order raw materials as needed.

Must be able to set up the edgebander for optimum performance and adjust as needed.

Perform and maintain good housekeeping practices along with the 5S standards.

Additional duties as assigned by Dept. Supervisor or lead.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must have basic ability for reading and writing, perform basic math skills and the ability to read a measuring tape.

Applicant must be able to identify various colors.

Previous experience with basic computer skills but will train.

Must have a strong sense of urgency in accomplishing hourly goals and problem solving.

Education and Experience

Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Will take work experience in lieu of Education.

Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions

Factory environment, possibly including heavy lifting, and areas where eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators are required.
