Job summary

Skild is building a scalable robotics platform in San Francisco. We seek a versatile Robotics Infrastructure Engineer to connect, manage, update, and monitor a fleet of robots at scale, with production-grade C++ and Python on devices and cloud pipelines.

You will collaborate across robotics, autonomy, hardware, deployment, and web product teams to enable real-time data-driven features, ensuring reliability and low-latency operation in real-world environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong production programming in C++ and Go.
• Experience deploying or managing connected hardware or robotic systems at scale.
• Experience architecting cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, etc.).
• Understanding networking protocols used in robotics or IoT (MQTT, WebSockets, gRPC).
• Experience with OTA update systems for edge devices or fleets.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain production-grade C++ and Go on robotic platforms.
• Build on-device systems for interfacing with core robotics software and local data buffering.
• Architect secure, low-latency edge-to-cloud data pipelines for fleets of robots.
• Design, build, and operate OTA update mechanisms for safe deployments.
• Develop telemetry, logging, and monitoring tools across device and cloud environments.
• Optimize edge software for reliability, performance, and power usage.
• Collaborate with autonomy, hardware, deployment, and product teams to enable new features from live data.
