Job summary

Generis TEK Inc. is seeking an Infrastructure Specialist for a Lincoln, Nebraska onsite contract role. The position focuses on installing Edge networking equipment and supporting state network engineers in maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include deploying Fortinet Fortigate firewalls, Cisco switches/routers, and Wireless Controllers across Nebraska, coordinating projects across agencies, and producing documentation. Typical hours are 8am-5pm with occasional after-hours duties.

Qualifications

• Intermediate knowledge of information technology theory, principles, and practices.
• Working knowledge of enterprise network devices is preferred.
• Network certifications are desired.

Responsibilities

• Install Edge Networking devices across the State of Nebraska.
• Provide technical support at an intermediate level for installation, operation, trouble shooting, and repair of edge network hardware.
• Coordinate multiple networking projects across multiple agencies at any given time. Installs and decommissions included.
• Evaluate network systems and determine the need for patches, upgrades, and analyze future technical needs.
• Develop and maintain procedures and processes, create documentation, and assist clients and other information technology employees.
• Work efficiently with a team of network engineers
• Standard daytime hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM but can expect after-hours and over-night stays may be required
