Job description

This role is non‑benefited with 24 hours per pay period. Evening shift: 7:00 pm–3:00 am. This position is responsible for providing individualized care to patients in an emergency setting according to established standards, policies and procedures.

Job Functions

• Prepare and transport patients for examination.
• Assist emergency staff in direct and indirect patient care functions as delegated.
• Perform EKGs and point‑of‑care testing.
• Apply splints and braces on patients as ordered, assuring proper CMS after application.
• Perform mandatory equipment checks.
• Document the various aspects of care on appropriate forms according to RMC policies and procedures.
• Accompany ambulance transports and assist with airway management as needed.
• Demonstrate competencies in the specialty area of Emergency.
• Assist with patient‑related activities under the supervision of the RN.
• Prepare equipment and aid providers during examination, testing, and treatment of patients.
• Maintain stocked supplies of equipment in the emergency department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of a Nursing Assistant or EMT course, or completion of a Nurse Internship with Ridgeview Medical Center, or an approved combination of education and experience.
